Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheat

I have a secret. And it’s deadly.
There are these cookies that my family loves. My sister, Kim, gave me her super secret recipe and boy is it good! And, from beginning to end – like when you get your mixing bowl out of the cupboard to taking them fresh from the oven – is only 20 minutes tops.
When you are in a pinch, need to look like super mom, super girlfriend, or super Martha, you just can’t beat these packages of cookie mix for a sure fire way into the hearts and stomachs of many.
I know. SHOCK. GASP!
For all you purists that love to measure, sift and spoon, this may not be your idea of a great idea, but when time is of the essence, these will pass off as the best homemade cookies ever. (No offense to your made-from-scratch baking. Honest.)
Simply add a stick of butter and an egg with the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix, and our secret weapon is to add about a handful of chopped walnuts. I tried for months to get them to come out soft and chewy without the nuts, but, it just didn’t work. Besides, walnuts have good omega 3 fatty acids in them and adds more texture and oil to the recipe. I’m telling ya…it really makes a moist and chewy cookie.
Of course, here is the recipe you can bake from scratch, but, make sure you have a couple of packages of cookie mix in the pantry. It’s a cheat that can’t be beat.
