To Be: Breathless

May 4, 2008

breath·less  Not breathing; holding the breath, on account of fear, expectation, or intense interest; attended with a holding of the breath; as, breathless attention.   Marked by the suspension of regular breathing, as from tension or excitement:

“All Heaven and Earth are still, though not in sleep, But breathless, as we grow when feeling most”. – Lord Byron.

To Be: Breathless
As I came into this world breathless, I want to go out in the same way.

Heaven help me if I can ever just pass through this life without noticing how wonderful it is. I want to look at the world in amazement.

I never want to lose my child-like awe at how small we are in the world. I want to honor that but know that we also have an effect on this world as well.

I want to welcome the world into my arms, no matter how it comes to me, and love it for making me who I am, just as I am. I want to hold my breath with anticipated excitement wondering just what will come next.

In a word, I want to become, breathless.

May you, if you want, become breathless, too.
